Lauren Williams Assistant Instructional Guide
Lauren’s Montessori journey began when she was enrolled in a Montessori school at 18 months old. She completed her time as a Montessori student in 6th grade. She then went on to study classical piano intensely and was a competitive pianist in high school and college. Lauren received a Bachelor’s of Music from The University of Alabama with a general business minor in 2018. During her time at the university, she realized the skills that helped her to find success in college were ones she learned as a student in her Montessori school. After graduating from the university, she felt Montessori calling her back and began teaching as a toddler assistant teacher at Creative Montessori School in Birmingham, Alabama. She quickly realized she loved working with toddlers and began her Infant/Toddler training in 2020 with CGMS. She transitioned to being a lead toddler guide and spent several wonderful years at the school. In August of 2022, Lauren began working at The Montessori School of Huntsville as a lead toddler guide. During her first year at MSH, along with her co-lead teacher, she re-established Montessori Educators of Alabama (MEA), an MPPI chapter in the state of Alabama. She helped to get an MEA board elected and brought Montessorians across the state together to begin to advocate for Montessori across Alabama. Lauren sees Montessori as the key to creating a better and more peaceful world. She continues to find ways to advocate for the method any way she can. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys reading, practicing piano, gardening, and baking sourdough bread.
