UNICEF recognizes Montessori school with prestigious award

The Rocking Horse Montessori Nursery School, Caversham, Berkshire, received the ‘Rights Respecting School – Silver award’ from the international charity. The award recognizes schools that show commitment to promoting and realizing children’s rights and encourage adults and children to respect the rights of others in school.

STEM grant to fund living laboratory in a geodesic growing dome

Oak Hill Montessori School in Shoreview, Minnesota received a grant that will turn its geodesic growing dome into a full living laboratory. The school received a $7,500 STEM grant through the Minnesota Independent School Forum’s STEM Program this spring.

Bangalore Montessori school provides program for migrant workers' children

Each morning, a team from Diya Ghar picks up children of migrant construction workers from their settlements in Horamavu and Kalkere and brings them to their centre. After a wash and breakfast, they sit down to learn Math, English and Kannada through the Montessori method.
