Judith Elliott Instructional Guide
I am an Instructional Guide for the Infant Toddler course. My Montessori journey began after I had been teaching English in a public high school for two years. It was an amazing experience and I loved guiding the amazing young people with whom I worked. At the same time, a roommate of mine was getting her graduate degree in Montessori Education, and we began to debate educational philosophies and outcomes. When I moved away from my high-school I decided to see what this Montessori thing looked like in action. I took a position as a Montessori Toddler teacher and fell in love with the children, the philosophy, and its practice. I stayed at that school for four years. When I moved again, I found a lovely school where I was, at various times, an assistant Infant teacher, a lead Toddler, and a lead Infant teacher for nine more years (with breaks when I had each of my children). I began to do a small amount of consulting at that same wonderful school and then came to CGMS to Guide the Montessorians of tomorrow.
I have a Masters in the Art of Teaching(secondary) from Towson University, Bachelor of the Arts in English literature from Penn State University, an Infant/Toddler certification from The North American Montessori Center, and an Infant/Toddler Certification from the American Montessori Society.
